Roses are red, violets are blue... but which are you?Mary Anna Im with permission for Varsity

With the appearance of the sun this week, Britain collectively engaged in a national case of gaslighting, convincing ourselves that spring had finally sprung. Will it be raining by the time this quiz is published? More than likely. Still, come rain or shine, we can always count on the spring flora to brighten our days. But with such an abundance of blossoming beauty, it can be hard to choose a favourite. Never fear, this quiz will help you navigate the intricacies of the floral world, and help you find out which spring bloom best aligns with you. Time to find out which spring flower you really are.

C) The libraries.

D) The city. Your home town doesn't compare to the grandeur of Cambridge architecture.

The centre of attention and ahead of the latest trends, only one flower can match your magnetic personality – peonies are the true showstoppers of the flower world. Much like these stunning blooms, your cutting-edge style and endless confidence attract stares from all who pass you by.  Though they symbolise prosperity and good luck, peonies are also associated with bashfulness; taking time to open up, perhaps hinting at a more timid nature hidden behind that flashy façade.

Cheerful and bursting with joy, tulips perfectly represent your wholesome personality. Friends and family are your priority; your aim in life is to bring a smile to the faces of those around you – just as these bright coloured bulbs do. Signifying deep love and charity, tulips perfectly align with your core values. Though the plethora of meanings attached to the variety of colours that tulips come in means there is something for everyone, make sure you don’t forget yourself while trying to please those around you.

You’re a complete dreamer, head forever in the clouds – whimsical bluebells are the perfect fit for your fanciful personality. Like these enchanting flowers, you bring a little bit of magic to an otherwise mundane world. Imbued with a mythical quality, bluebells are known as fairy flowers. Yet, be warned, picking bluebells in a fairy wood has been said to anger the fae, causing them to trap unwitting humans within their world – perhaps a powerful warning not to wander off too far with the fairies.

Which houseplant is right for you?

Peace is what you crave. Violets represent just that. These petite blooms are associated with tranquillity and wisdom, making them the perfect match for a quiet soul such as yourself.  You find comfort in solitude; your favourite activities consist of sipping coffee while reading a good book, or wandering through nature, alone with your thoughts. Just as these tiny flowers are easy to miss, you’re often overlooked – considered the ‘quiet kid’ growing up, and reserved, or even aloof, as an adult. Yet, violets also signify faithfulness and loyalty, implying that maybe you care more about those around you than you let on.
