The Golden Globes’ Best Dressed
They may all have gone in the same colour, but it definitely wasn’t a fashion faux pas. Eli Hayes has scoured the Red Carpet coverage to bring you the best outfits from the night.

There hasn’t been an awards event in recent history to which what was worn by the guests was so important. The stars came out in force behind the #TimesUp campaign to end discrimination, harassment, and abuse of and against women. The night was historic; it would be easy to let the fashion highlights pass you by. So, in case you missed them, here are the Best Dressed from the Golden Globes.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Ellis Ross made it onto almost all the hot-lists after this killer combo from Marc Jacobs.
Salma Hayek and Ashley Judd
Individually, these two were show-stopping, but the juxtaposition of Hayek’s figure-hugging, bold, and impressive Balenciaga dress against Judd’s elegant, lace embroidered Elie Saab piece and bare neckline is a thing of beauty.
Isabelle Huppert
Who doesn’t love a bit of glamour? Huppert was awe-inspiring in this structured custom Chloé dress paired with Chopard jewellery.
Christina Hicks
Christina Hicks never fails, and this custom Christian Siriano – reminiscent of her costumes from Mad Men – is no exception.
Kate Hudson
In a dress we all wish we could pull off as well, Hudson was glowing as she graced the red carpet in this Valentino dress.
Claire Foy
Foy executed the power suit perfectly in this Stella McCartney combo, but the look would not be complete without that striking red lipstick.
Diane Kruger
Kruger looked almost ethereal in this incredible Prada dress-cape combination. The intricate jewels and sheer appearance of her dress worked perfectly with her Judith Leiber clutch.
Angelina Jolie
In this Atelier Versace dress, Jolie looked graceful as ever.
Saoirse Ronan
Ronan’s Versace gown was featured heavily on British Vogue’s Instagram feed of the evening’s events, and it’s easy to see why.
Helen Mirren
Mirren looked effortlessly classic in this Zuhair Murad as she presented Sam Rockwell with the first award of the night.
Oprah
While her dress was definitely not the highlight of Oprah’s night, the custom Ronald van der Kemp definitely deserves some recognition.
Alicia Vikander
In her Louis Vuitton dress and slicked-back hair, Vikander looked elegant and beautiful.
Dakota Johnson
Johnson got the balance just right with her outfit from Gucci, pairing it with softly curled hair and statement earrings
Everyone’s outfits were jaw-dropping, but it’s hard to ignore – nor should we try to diminish – the importance of their efforts to show solidarity by actively wearing black. These outfits were just a fraction of a night that won't be forgotten for a long time
