Apply to be Editor this Easter
Applications to be Varsity editor-in-chief for Easter are open until Friday 1 March
Applications to be the Editor of Varsity in Easter Term are now open.
This is your opportunity to take the lead at Cambridge’s only independent student newspaper, shedding light on the student experience and keeping the Cambridge community informed. You have the opportunity to appoint and organise your own team, develop their talents, and work on impactful stories which shape discussion.
You will manage a team producing online content throughout the term and be responsible for producing our Varsity Review & Yearbook, a circa 60 page A4 glossy magazine, which will be published at the beginning of June. It's your chance to be creative and to reflect on the newspaper's current place in Cambridge.
Applications can be made solo or as a pair. Previous experience at Varsity is not required for the role. All students who are passionate about journalism, and have creative direction for the new magazine, coupled with an eye for layout and design and experience using Adobe InDesign are strongly encouraged to apply.
More instructions for how to apply can be found here. All applications must be submitted to the Varsity Business Manager, Mark Curtis, at business@varsity.co.uk. The deadline to apply is midday on Friday 1st March 2024. Interviews will take place on the morning of Wednesday 6th March 2024.
If you have any general questions about the application process, please contact Michael Hennessey (VarSoc President) president@varsity.co.uk and if you have additional questions about the role of Editor, please contact the current Editors, Michael Hennessey and Daniel Hilton at editor@varsity.co.uk.
Applications for other roles on the Easter team will open once the Editor has been appointed. We wish you the best of luck with your application!
