Cambridge railway station flooded as Met Office issues weather warning
Disruption to travel is expected across the county
The entrance and ticket hall at Cambridge railway station were flooded on Tuesday, following heavy rain.
The station’s ticket office and main entrance were closed as a result and had to undergo emergency works.
In a Tweet, train operator Greater Anglia said that passengers could still use the side entrance to the station and purchase tickets online.
At the same time, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for parts of Cambridgeshire, including Cambridge, informing of very heavy rainfall potentially leading to disruption.
The warning was issued for Tuesday 14th September. The weather has since improved.
