What is Switchboard?

Switchboard is Varsity’s flagship podcast. This term, Switchboard connects you to an  eclectic array of voices & sounds, from the Cambridge community and beyond.

Episodes are released every Friday on all major podcasting apps and on Sundays you can listen live from 16:30 to 17:00 on CamFM. 

Our first episode (April 24th) featured two medics who’ve graduated early this year, a creative submission centred around nightmares, a look at the leaked Labour report, and a love letter to the English Faculty.

We hear from two Cambridge medics about how the COVID-19 pandemic has led to over 5,000 final-year medical students graduating early in order to support the NHS.

Chay’s Nightmares

Chay Graham, Campaigns Officer for the Disabled Students’ Campaign, reads a piece recounting some eclectic nightmares, linking them to the politics of disability.

Labour Leaks

Cambridge University Labour Club’s BAME Officer, Jed Asemota, joins us to discuss the fallout from the leak of a document on the party's handling of anti-Semitism allegations.
