Night at the (Fitzwilliam) Museum
Fitzwilliam to host its first ever afterhours student night
In a truly unique endeavor, the Fitzwilliam Museum will offer free afterhours admission to students this Thursday.
In a bid to encourage students to take notice of the world-class art exhibitions on their doorstep the Fitzwilliam will be drawing crowds with the prospect of a free drinks reception, a chance to meet the curators and a Love Art Trail competition.
"This special evening, which came about in partnership with the student Fitzwilliam Museum Society, will be a rare opportunity for students to enjoy the Museum after-hours," Fiona Brown, Head of Marketing & Press for the museum, told Varsity.
"The Fitzwilliam is lucky to have a very loyal student audience, and this is really our way of thanking them - as well as introducing those who perhaps don't know us so well to our beautiful galleries and world-class collections."
The Love After Dark event has been made possible by the support of the Eridge Trust and will also provide a platform for live student music including Fitzwilliam College’s Fitz Sirens.
Doors open at 6.30pm, but with a growing Facebook interest, students are being encouraged to arrive early in order to ensure that all-important wine voucher.
