Applications can be made solo or as a pairVARSITY ARCHIVES

Applications to be Varsity’s Editor-in-Chief for Easter Term are now open.

This is your opportunity to lead the team at Cambridge’s oldest and only independent student newspaper, shedding light on the student experience and keeping the Cambridge community informed. You have the chance to appoint and organise your own team, develop their talents, and work on impactful stories which shape discussion.

You will manage a large team producing online content throughout the term as well as “The Varsity Review & Yearbook 2026,” a 64-page glossy magazine issued on 12th June 2026. Our fortnightly print editions will not be published during Easter Term – the Yearbook will be the sole physical edition produced by the Easter editorial team.

Applications can be made alone or as a pair. No previous experience at Varsity is required for the role. All students who are passionate about journalism, and have creative direction for the paper’s yearbook, are encouraged to apply.

Instructions on how to apply can be found here. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Friday 27th February 2026.

If you have any general questions about the application process, please contact Wilf Vall (VarSoc President) at president@varsity.co.uk and if you have additional questions about the role of Editor, please contact the current Editors, Calum Murray and Ellie Buckley at editor@varsity.co.uk.

Applications for other roles on the Easter team will open once the Editor has been appointed.
