The body of a woman was found in the River Cam near Granchester Tea Rooms in Grantchester earlier this morning, Police have confirmed.

The woman was found in the river of the popular destination at approximately 8:45am, and was declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

There are currently no suspicious circumstances surrounding the event, a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police informed Varsity.

Messages seen by Varsity also suggest that earlier this morning, swimmers in the area were instructed by members of the Police to exit the river.
