Cambridge graduate appears at the Old Bailey on terrorism charge
Oliver Bel is alleged to have made anti-Semitic comments on a neo-Nazi forum
Oliver Bel, 23, who graduated from Cambridge with a degree in Mathematics last summer, appeared at the Old Bailey court today on two charges, as reported by the BBC.
The first charge pertains to allegations that Mr Bel claimed that extermination was the “best option” for Jewish people on a neo-Nazi forum.
The “grossly offensive” post was allegedly sent on 14th September 2017 and is challenged by the Communications Act 2003.
The second charge alleges that Mr Bel was found in possession of a terrorism and bomb-making manual in Salford on 15th November 2019.
Mr Bel, who is originally from Oldham in Greater Manchester, appeared at the Old Bailey via a video link.
A court plea and trial preparation is scheduled for 12th June, with a five-day trial scheduled for 2nd November at Manchester Crown Court.
Bel has been granted conditional bail.
