Varsity Film Survey 2017
Our new Film and TV Editor, Lillian Crawford, invites you to vote for your favourite films, directors, and stars, with the rankings to be revealed later this term

It’s time to make some difficult decisions. This term we want to know your favourite film of all time, and to make things easier, you will be able to vote for films by genre as well. Of course, don’t feel obliged to go for the generic critical favourites like The Godfather. We want to know which films you enjoy watching over and over to see what Cambridge’s viewing habits are like. Perhaps you delight in the nostalgia of the Golden Age, with classics such as Singin’ In The Rain, or you prefer to live in the moment and pick something like La La Land. Or maybe you are less mainstream and enjoy four-hour black-and-white foreign cinema, possibly even the downright crazy and vulgar. All suggestions are welcome.
By film we mean a feature made for cinematic release, although we won’t quibble over run-time if Un Chien Andalou or other short films are your favourites. Be sure to use its official title as found on IMDb, and if it’s part of a franchise, please be specific (votes for just Star Wars, Harry Potter etc, will not be counted – refer to the individual films). Oh, and there’s a bonus question to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars so we can create a definitive order of preference – this is bound to be interesting.
So, what are you waiting for? Get voting now!
