ARU lecturer in critical condition following attack
Dr Marian Bond’s husband has been charged with attempted murder after she suffered serious head injuries
A senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University is fighting for her life after being attacked at her home in Over, about 10 miles northwest of Cambridge.
Dr Marian Bond, who lectures across Anglia Ruskin’s Animal and Environmental Biology courses, suffered serious head injuries in the incident.
She was taken to hospital by paramedics after they were called to her home at 8 o’clock on Monday morning. She remained there yesterday in a critical but stable condition.
Paul Bond, who is believed to be Dr Bond's husband, has since been charged with attempted murder.
He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody. He will next appear at Cambridge Crown Court on 11th August.
A spokesman from Anglia Ruskin University said: "We can confirm that Dr Marian Bond is a member of staff at Anglia Ruskin University.
"As this is an ongoing police investigation we are unable to provide further information at this time."
