Netball: Blues and Jays rampant
The Blues remain unbeaten after easing past Birmingham, whilst the Jays crush De Montfort to stay top.

Cambridge Blues on fire as they continue their unbeaten streak against Birmingham
Blues 57 - 21 Birmingham Is
CULNC knew that they needed to start strongly against Birmingham, and that they did. For the first few minutes Birmingham didn't score a single goal, while the outstanding shooting of Sophie Hussey and Frances Lee-Barber saw Cambridge take a very dominant lead. Laura Spence was on fire making interception after interception, as was Charlotte Plumtree - helping to ensure Birmingham were kept at bay. The centre court worked tirelessly against an aggressive Birmingham defence, seeing beautiful play down the court. Substitutions in the third quarter of Izzy Bell, Hayley Smith and Nicky Taylor saw Cambridge increase its league. The final score was 57-21 to Cambridge. Cambridge's absolute domination against Birmingham, ranked 2nd in their league, just goes to show the huge talent in this year's squad. The Blues' next game is the quarter final of the cup away against Coventry.
MoM: Frances Lee-Barber for unstoppable attacks and flawless shooting.
Jays storm to another victory against De Montfort to stay top of the league
Jays 87 - 12 De Montfort Is
The Jays got off to a solid start leading the match with the shooting duo of Emily Elliott and Maddy Eno proving to be in excellent form. Some strong defensive work put pressure on De Montfort throughout, and the Jays were up 25-4 at the end of the first quarter. With fewer unforced errors than the previous week, the Jays got into their stride in the second and third quarters, ensuring that they dominated the match. Some excellent feeds into the circle from Becky Haggie, Everest Marshall and Catrin Bush ensured that the Jays could capitalise on their lead. While De Montfort rarely posed a significant threat, the Jays kept up momentum all the way through to the final quarter, where the match finished 87-12. The Jays' next match is at home in a fortnight's time against Oxford 2nds, and they will look to maintain this momentum going through to the Varsity match on 1st March.
