Back to Basics: Chicken Curry
Has it really come to this? Yes. Yes it bloody has. A feather-light wallet and a post-supervision growl in my estomago drove me to that aisle in Sainsbury’s where they shove all the tins.
Ignoring the flirtatious shimmying of Heinz's posse of cans, all chillin' on the shelf as if at some hip party, I searched by price tag as opposed to by specific product. This introduced me to our more modest friend, Mr. Chicken Curry, cheap as chips: you, me, self-checkout, boom. Verdict? For a 48p tin of curry - fine. Good taste, thick sauce, a few raisins (how risqué, Sainsbury’s, you minx), a decent amount of meat, though the vegetables were terrifyingly square.
It tasted like D of E. Have it with a Foster's and maybe even some rice on the side. At 48p you can afford to go crazy.
