Gonville and Caius raises LGBT+ flag
On the final day of LGBT History Month, the rainbow flag has been raised at Caius
Gonville and Caius has now raised the LGBT+ rainbow flag upon its flagpole, on the last day of LGBT History Month.
Caius joined several other colleges including Clare, Christ’s, Downing, Emmanuel, Homerton, King’s, Magdalene, Newnham, Pembroke, Robinson, Selwyn, Sidney Sussex, and St Catharine’s after raising the flag early on Monday morning. Wolfson College also raised the rainbow flag upon its flagpole for the first time late last week.
The flag was raised just in time for the final day of LBGT History Month, which aims to raise awareness about notable events and figures in the history of the LGBT+ movement.
The flagpole, one of the most visible in Cambridge, stands on Caius’s tower, and faces towards King’s Parade. It is not known how long Caius will allow it to fly for.
