Mixed lacrosse blues maul Portsmouth
36-0 rout sees Cambridge stay top of the table

The mixed lacrosse blues continued their unbeaten season with a 36-0 win against Portsmouth on Sunday.
The Cambridge defence was largely untested throughout the match, but communicated well to shut down the few opportunities that Portsmouth did create. Cambridge dominated in the midfield and attack, building an impressive scoreline that would have been even higher without the skill and bulk of the Portsmouth goalkeeper.
Impressive hustle in the midfield from James Horscroft and Henry Pritchard frustrated the Portsmouth midfielders, who were not allowed to make any fast breaks. The Cambridge attackers used space intelligently to create plenty of opportunities, scoring eighteen goals in each half of the game. Man of the match was Francis Wragg, a constant threat both in midfield and in front of goal, but there were a number of different goal-scorers, highlighting the depth of the squad.
Next week, the team face Southampton to defend their place at the top of the league table.
