Dirty Dark Blues’ sour win
Mel Addy on a fierce hockey battle with Oxford

Cambridge hoped to use their home advantage to claim their first win against Oxford in seven years, at Wilberforce Road on Wednesday. Having scored, Oxford deliberately broke down play to slow the Cambridge attack, resulting in a yellow card for a particularly obvious foul.

Frustratingly, the Light Blues couldn’t make their superior play and numerical advantage tell: despite dominating possession and territory in the dying minutes of the game, the match ended with a slightly sour 1-0.
