Cambridge police have released CCTV footage and two stills of the man wanted in connection with the sexual assaults targeting young women in Cambridge.

The images show the man at the junction of King’s Parade and Bene't Street at about 3am on Saturday 28th May, around the time the latest of the nine attacks occurred.

Eight of the victims have been students at the university, and all the victims have been aged between 19 and 32.

Students of the university have been warned to take extra caution when walking home, and have been advised to walk in groups or take a taxi back where possible.

As part of a university wide initiative, colleges are also letting students under threat into the Porter’s Lodge, and counselling is also available.

Detective Sergeant Phil Priestley has echoed the University’s advice and wants anyone who recognises the man in the footage to step forward, believing that he could be ‘vital’ in resolving the investigation.

He said, 'We are keen to trace the man pictured in these CCTV images as we believe he may have vital information which could assist our investigation.

'I would urge anyone who recognises him, or the man himself, to call police.'

The attacker is in his 20s, and is a Caucasian male between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall and of medium build.

Posters and e-fits have been put up across the city, and the police are urging anyone who knows him to come forward.

Anyone with information should call office on 0345 456 4564, or alternatively can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
