Terence Barnett hopes that a meeting with Sir Richard Branson could launch his new businessWiki Commons

After losing his place at university, Terence Barnett was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. Now, the Cambridge based entrepreneur hopes to use his experiences to help others in a similar position.

The 29-year-old entrepreneur needs to gain 550 votes in order to be short-listed for the Virgin Media Business #VOOM 2015: PitchtoRich Competition 2015.

Barnett said "Losing my place at University was difficult as I wanted to continue. However, being diagnosed with Aspergers was a relief that has helped me make sense of my situation.

"It's not completely sunk in yet to be honest but I believe blogging and sharing my experiences will help me process this, all whilst helping others!"

If he gains enough public support, he will be given the opportunity to pitch his ideas to Sir Richard Branson and other high profile business owners, whom he believes will understand and appreciate his ideas. As Barnett says: "Opportunities like this should not be missed".

Barnett currently runs a blog dedicated to autism awareness and social business. His aim is to follow the career path he would have taken had he been able to complete his degree; launching his business The Millennial Coaching Company.

"The Millennial Coaching Company will offer free business advice, coaching and support to 18-30 year old's who are interested in starting up their own business. We will offer up to £25,000 low interest loans, training programmes, ongoing mentoring and support to all successful applicants."

According to the Judges of the Unilever Sustainable Living Young Entrepreneur Awards 2014, "Terry shows a commitment to make a difference to local communities and businesses".

A more detailed description of his plans can be found in The Millennial Generation Manifesto on his website. This includes three social business models that he will use to fight poverty and inequality if he wins the competition.

Voting for PitchtoRich 2015 will re-open on Monday 18th May at 10.00 am, and will close on Wednesday 20th May at 5pm.
