Introducing Female Arts
The online magazine for everything female and arty
Two years before the Feminist Times launched Female Arts was born. This online magazine, aimed at those who they describe as 'interesting' people within the arts, is a volunteer run network designed to promote women in performing, visual and literary arts across the UK.
Female Arts regularly reviews everything from exhibitions to comedy, as well as listing upcoming events, interviewing inspirational women, and featuring companies and festivals from all corners of the UK and beyond.
The magazine maintain that women are not equally represented in the arts or in business - ranging from a lack of roles for women over 40 on television and in theatre, to glass ceiling senior roles in business, to unequal pay. Female Arts wish to promote women in an attempt to redress what they call "this gender imbalance".
They're interested in both fringe and mainstream, so if you're involved with a project you think they'd be interested in, get in touch, they're awfully friendly.
