Applications are now open to become Editor of Varsity in Lent 2018. This is your opportunity to take up the lead editorial role producing Cambridge’s biggest and best student newspaper.

Applications can be solo or as a pair. The successful candidate(s) will lead a large team, managing Varsity’s website and social media presence over Christmas break and during term, and producing eight print editions throughout Lent.

Applications are expected to show a strong vision for the paper, and must demonstrate they have the skills required to run a successful Varsity team. Candidates will be expected to show a clear idea of how the paper should present itself to incoming students.

No prior experience at Varsity or any other student publication is required for the role, though successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of their ability to manage a large team.

Previous editors include some of Britain’s top journalists, and can be found working across the worlds of media, film, theatre, politics and more.

Information about how to apply can be found here (PDF download). The deadline for applications is 5pm on Sunday 18th November, with interviews intended to be held on the morning of 21st November.

If you have any questions about the application, direct them to Caitlin Smith, Varsity Society President, via president@varsity.co.uk.
