Magdalene Ball boast “best live band in Britain”
Vintage indie-pop band Noisettes to headline May Ball.
The radio-friendly pop duo, The Noisettes, have been announced as the headliners of the white-tie event. An established band, the Noisettes released their third album, 'Contact', last August to mixed reviews.
Nevertheless, the group are still well-known thanks to their UK No.2 single "Don't Upset the Rhythm (Go, Baby, Go)"; the song that brought the band into, although fleetingly, the spotlight of fame.
While commercial success might continue to elude the quirky and slighty kitsch group, the reviews about their live performances are unanimously positive, with Rolling Stone praising lead singer, Shingai Shoiwa—"a living, breathing manifestation of the rock & roll spirit". A strong stage presence, positivity, and energetic vocals all promise to inject the glamorous evening with fun, charm, and an adorable lack of pretension.
