Cambridge Film Festival / Various venues
In 1996, Christoper Nolan had a short film selected for the festival's programme, and the event continues to celebrate film of the past, present and future. From outdoor screenings in Grantchester Meadows to a cinematic experience in the Heong Gallery at Downing, from Casablanca to Dogtanian and the Three Muskhounds, there is a space and a film to delight everyone.

The Cambridge Festival of Ideas / Various venues
The 9th year of the festival offers talks from "Brining Listz's Sardanaple to Life" to "Putin's Russia: Dangerous or misunderstood?". Celebrating the arts, humanities, and social sciences, the event aims to engage the public to explore these areas in an inspiring way.

Treasures of the University Library / North Reading Room, University Library
Expert curators give 10 minute talks on the ancient treasures that are harboured within the library's walls: the Cairo Genziah is explored on Tuesday 25th, whilst Thursday 27th will feature the first book printed in the West.

Trinity Hall Concert: Anniversary of the Organ

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Carsten Lund Organ (and launching the most recent college CD, 'The Young J. S. Bach'), the chapel of Trinity Hall is offering a £5 ticket price for students.

Apple Day at the Botanic Garden
Cambridge University Botanic Garden, 10am-4pm.
Featuring apple tasting and a marquee bursting with locally produced ciders, flavoured spirits and other edibles, the Botanic Garden basks in the delights of autumn. £3 for students with university ID.

Monday 24th
Talk: Experimental Film
Heong Gallery, Downing College, 3:30pm.
As part of the microcinema strand of the Cambridge Film Festival, lecturer Yvonne Salmon will chair a roundtable discussion on experimental film today, by reference to the fiftieth anniversary of the London Film-makers' Cooperative. Many of the filmmakers featuring in the microcinema strand will take part: catch their screenings on 23rd and 24th October at the Arts Picturehouse.

ADC Theatre, 7.45pm
The ADC plays host to Chinese dramatist Lao She's production, which whilst popular at the time of its writing in 1957, came under attack during the Cultural Revolution, and was not widely performed until 1985.

Talk: Muslim prisoners' experiences in high security prisons
Chetwynd and Keynes Hall, King's College, 6pm
The University of Cambridge's Centre of Islamic Studies hosts this free talk exploring "security, religious freedoms, diversity and the role of state". Using in depth field research and the voices of Muslim prisoners, the Centre aims to educate and discuss in an informal and relaxed setting.

Strike a Pose
Museum of Classical Archeology, 11am-12.30pm
In this workshop led by Cambridge-based charity Rowan, learn how to draw classical sculptures for an hour and a half. Part of the Cambridge Festival of Ideas.

GoGo Penguin
Cambridge Junction, 7pm.
This acoustic-electronic trio from Manchester, shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2014, are influenced by Massive Attack and Aphex Twin (as well as Manchester's moody streets). Hear their anthemic riffs for £16.
